This year, the 21st edition of Kagyu Monlam took place again in Bodhgaya, India, where Buddha Shakyamuni realized awakening. <\/sup> Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the XVIIth Gyalwa Karmapa, and his eminence the IVth Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche led aspiration prayers under the Bodhi tree, along with great lamas from our lineage. <\/sup><\/sup><\/p>\n

Kagyu Monlam 2023: Last days<\/h3>\n

During the final days of the Kagyu Monlam, Thaye Dorje, His Holiness the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa, continued to lead aspiration prayers at the Maha Bodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya. <\/sup>
On the 19th of December Karmapa granted the empowerment of Buddha Amitayus, one of the wisdom aspects of longevity, to a gathering of thousands of practitioners at Karma Temple.
The final day of the 2023 Kagyu Monlam concluded in a joyful atmosphere under the Bodhi Tree with the recitation of auspicious prayers amidst a rain of flowers…<\/p>\n
